A machine-parseable coverage format — the two llvm-cov export speaks.
Deliberately no HTML: a rendered report is for a human reading it once, and a build output is for a machine reading it every time. A tool that wants to gate on a percentage, diff two runs or upload to a coverage service needs the numbers, and recovering them from HTML is scraping.
"lcov"—lcov.info, the format every coverage service and editor gutter plugin already reads;"json"—coverage.json, LLVM's own export: region-level, lossless, and the only one of the two that keeps branch and expansion regions.
